Is Tom Brady Losing His Hair, Again?! A Critical, Post-Superbowl Update!

By now it’s common knowledge that somewhere around 2010, Tom Brady probably had a hair transplant. Now, after Tom’s miraculous comeback in Super Bowl 51, my post entitled The Top 10 Balding NFL Quartbacks (and Tom Brady’s Awesome Hair Transplant) has received a massive surge of traffic. People are wondering if Tom’s follicular luck is starting to run out, once again!

Some of the terms people are searching for include “Tom Brady hair loss” and “Tom Brady balding.” So let’s address the subject. His hair has looked awesome for many years. Take a look at the pic below, which features 4 shots of Tom, before and after his supposed hair transplant.

So yeah, he looked great, right?

But his father is a bald man. He looked incredible after the (likely) transplant. But now, maybe he’s not using a drug like Propecia — which I imagine he’d be inclined not to use as a professional athlete, but I could be mistaken. And if he’s not on any medication, then it’s certainly possible that he’ll follow in his father’s follicular footsteps.

All that said, I don’t believe Tom is balding, personally. And I’m something of an expert; you can review my story and qualifications on my Start Here page.

I’m a Seahawks fan. And even though Malcolm Butler and Daryl Bevyl, the Seahawks’ inept offensive coordinator,  broke my heart in Superbowl 49, I don’t harbor any ill-will toward Brady. Best quarterback ever. Best NFL player ever, perhaps. And I don’t wish balding on him or anyone, so I’m certainly not biased here.

Sure, his crown looked a little thin, maybe. I think that wasn’t nearly as bad as it appeared, given his short hairstyle and wet, sweaty hair. We all have cowlicks, too, of course.

And yeah, his hairline corners looked a little on the wispy side as well. But there were no concrete, alarming signs of severe balding, in my humble opinion.

Many elite athletes look to PRP (platelet-rich plasma), a treatment that uses a patients own blood, to combat their various injuries and medical conditions. PRP is an effective treatment option for hair loss too, so I imagine Tom might consider a treatment this off-season! Or not, I don’t know. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt here, I don’t think he’s going bald (again). I’d say he still has a pretty solid mature hairline. What do you think? Cast your vote in the comment section.

  1. He had a hair transplant procedure. It’s a fact. He went to hair club for men. His wife demanded it.
