Pulling the Rug Out: 6 Shocking Facts about Donald Trump’s Hair

Last Updated on June 3, 2020 by Robert Price

Bill Maher once compared Trump’s hair to a dead squirrel. He has the second most ridiculed hairstyle on the planet, right behind Kim Jong Un of North Korea.

Is Trump’s hair real? If so, what’s wrong with it? You’re about to find out the answers to those burning questions and more. Here are the top 6 shocking facts about President Trump’s hair.

1. It’s Not a Toupee

Seriously. I know, it’s hard to believe. But that is his real hair, as he said repeatedly on the campaign trail. And in fairness to President Trump, his hair always looked a little unusual, to put it kindly. But if you thought he was sporting a rug, a la William Shatner, think again! Ashley Judd was mistaken. Anyone who says he’s sporting a rug is wrong as well.

2. He (Probably) Had a Lot of BAD Work Done

This isn’t exactly shocking, granted — unless you thought his hair was fake. Many suspect that he’s had an old-school scalp flap surgery.

Basically, that means they (hypothetically, wink wink) cut out a section of scalp from the back or sides of his head and moved it up front to his hairline, where the balding was likely taking place.

Sounds a bit barbaric and gruesome, doesn’t it?

Yeah, that’s because it is! Scalp flap surgery is an archaic procedure that is rarely performed by physicians today. The procedure typically yields unnatural results, creating an abnormally dense and abrupt hairline, while in many cases, also altering the direction of hair growth.

In addition to having a scalp flap procedure, many hair loss specialists also believe Trump’s had a hair transplant (or multiple hair transplants).

3. He Thinks It Looks Great!

Another fact that’s pretty outrageous, no doubt. During the primaries, he compared his hairline to Florida senator Marco Rubio’s hairline. Trump stated that he unequivocally had much better hair than Rubio, adding an enthusiastic “believe me” afterwords for good measure.

Rubio’s also likely had a hair transplant by the way, though he’s probably overdue for another one. It’s been reported that Trump is prejudiced against balding men, too. Legend has it, he once offered one of his balding executives a tube of Rogaine and even called the poor guy’s thinning hair “disgusting.” Sad! I mean, seriously.

What’s wrong with Trump’s hair? The answer my friend is blowin in the wind (i.e. bad hair procedures & male pattern baldness).

4. Trump takes Propecia to Maintain His Mane

Propecia is a highly effective hair loss drug, which as the Huffington Post gleefully pointed out, is occasionally associated with mental confusion and impotence. Trump’s longtime doctor is the one who made this claim; that same doctor, during the 2016 campaign, stated enthusiastically that “if elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”

That doctor is also on Propecia (and he sounds a bit nuts). Fun fact, Propecia is also used to treat BPH, a condition that gives older men that “sudden urge” to use the bathroom multiple times per night — and that’s actually one of the 10 things I hate about Propecia.

In 2017 or so, the official White House doctor, Ronny Jackson, confirmed that Trump is indeed on finasteride for the prevention of male pattern baldness.

5. He’s Been Combing It the Same Way Since the Late 80s!

That’s according to a longtime, former hairstylist of his, who worked on The Apprentice reality show/ I looked at some of the pics, and it appears that his stylist is correct. He’s been styling his hair the same way, for all intents and purposes, for nearly 3 decades.

6. Someone in His “Inner Circle” Dyes his Hair

Again, that’s according to his former hairstylist. It certainly doesn’t look like a professional dye job! Though the blonde ale shade he’s been rocking lately does suit him better than the reds he used previously. Who’s the only person on earth Trump trusts to color his hair? Who knows. Mike Pence, perhaps?

There you have it. The top 6 shocking facts about Trump’s hair. Was this fake news? I don’t know. I attempted to cite the truth here and not alternative facts. Hopefully I don’t end up in Guantanamo.
